Our former British and International Champion Instructors are now dedicated to creating a welcoming and fun environment where anyone can come along and benefit from their extensive experience, knowledge and professionalism.

Sherrie Nelson

Sherrie Nelson danced at The Spencer Dance Centre from the age of 8 years old with a successful competitive career alongside competing with the well know Spencer Dance Centre Formation Teams. Under the watchfull eye of Peggy Spencer MBE & Geoffrey Hearne, she qualified to teach and continues to share her passion for dance and her many years of experience with her own school remaining a member of the ISTD and now the NATD

Leah & Ian Cole

Leah Cole & her husband Ian trained at the Spencer Dance Centre from an early age where they were members of the world renowned Peggy Spencer formation team. 

As youths and adults they continued their formation careers competing with The South of England Formation Team, becoming 9 x British Champions. Their titles earned them the honour of representing England competing throughout Europe and at ‘The Worlds’.

They now have many years of teaching experience and enjoy partnering Quick-Steps students in the schools medalist and competition events.

Abigail Baker

Abigail Baker is a Junior and Youth Blackpool Winner/Competitor, bringing her extensive experience and knowledge to the school.  Working with students of all abilities, Abigail is passionate about preparing her dancers for medal tests and competition events.  

Joanna Spencer Jones

Joanna is a former British Amateur 10 Dance Champion, British National Finalist and Open British Youth Modern Semi-Finalist. 

Granddaughter of the icons of the Ballroom 
Frank and Peggy Spencer MBE, Joanna had a highly successful competitive career representing her country as a Youth and Amateur throughout the UK and Worldwide.
After a break from dancing to have a family, Joanna returned to share her family's expertise and draw on her own experience.

Joanna has also turned her passion for dance into Fitness Instructing through our FitSteps classes - a dance workout mixing the graceful steps of Ballroom and uptempo steps of Latin to provide a fun filled class where you don’t even realise you're getting fit!
